John J. Cox III, 28, of Elmsford, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 6, following the joint operation by the Greenburgh Police Department’s Street Crime Unit, the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force, and the City of New Rochelle Police Department’s Special Investigation’s Unit, Town of Greenburgh Police said.
During a search of his home on Winthrop Avenue, police seized 27 grams of cocaine, 17 plastic twists of crack-cocaine, 100 pills of Oxycodone, 41 pills of Adderall, 1 loaded 9mm Taurus handgun with its serial numbers defaced, 79 rounds of ammunition, and approximately $100,000 in cash, police said.
Cox was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell a stimulant, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Cox was arraigned at the Greenburgh Town Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
